“ALWAYS NEEDED, ALWAYS THERE”

I am looking again at the beautiful bookmark from the New Zealand RED CROSS. At the present time you find the bookmark on page 46 in the book “The Prayer of Jabez” by Bruce Wilkinson. The four words at the bottom of the bookmark are speaking to me. The words are “Always needed, Always there.”

The RED CROSS people are always needed.

But there is ONE person, we need more than any other person. That person is also always needed. The author, Annie S. Hawks is writing about that person, “I need Thee, O I need Thee, ev’ry hour I need Thee! O bless me now, my Savior– I come to Thee!” That is the chorus of the beautiful hymn “I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR.” It has five verses. This ONE person is the Lord Jesus Christ. In Psalm 86:1 David is crying out in prayer to the Lord, “Hear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.”

On the bookmark it also says, that the RED CROSS people are always there. It is true, that they are always needed. And I surely hope, that they are always there.

The Lord Jesus Christ is surely always there. Here is His promise, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 Let us trust His word.
