PRAYER

“Prayer is worship addressed to the Father, in the Name of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit.”- Dr. H.W. Frost

Twice I got the message lately that I should do at least four things when I pray. That made me think about my prayers to God the Father.

Am I lacking one of the parts? Before I carry on, I better tell you what the four parts are:P1080200

A doration – Psalm 95:6 “worship”

C onfession – Psalm 32:5 “confess my transgressions”

T hanksgiving – Philippians 4:6 “thanksgiving”

S upplication – First Timothy 2:1 “requests,…, intercession”

Let me first of all confess that I am lacking CONFESSION. That’s what I am thinking. I am lacking confession, not so much in my personal communion with God, but when I am together with other people and I am praying, in the church for example.

By now I hope you have noticed the letters in bold type. ACTS stand for Acts, the fifth book of the New Testament. This book of the BIBLE- I hope – helps us to remember Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication.
