I am looking at a little booklet and I like the picture on the frontcover. A man is lying in a hammock and he has a laptop on his chest, not on his lap. At the top of the picture is written in big letters: “FREEDOM YEARS”.
“FREEDOM YEARS!” O, how I like that very much!
The booklet is put out by The National Bank.
In the middle of the booklet you can find important information about FREEDOM YEARS. Who is Eligible for FREEDOM YEARS? Only those who are 65 years of age and you must be a customer of The National Bank of course. Monthly account fees and all transaction fees are waived for customers.
I have said it before and am saying it again what I have heard from the pulpit one Sunday morning at the Baptist Church in Kerikeri some time ago. The man in the pulpit said: “Old age is not for sissies.”
You probably say 65 years is not old age. But remember that some people die before they reach those socalled ‘FREEDOM YEARS’.
Have a look at the diary of people who are more than sixtyfive years old. What do you find written in their diaries? “Appointment with my doctor”. Then another appointment with the specialist one week later and the following week get a bloodtest done. And so it goes on.
That are the socalled ‘Years of Freedom’.
I am so glad that my years of freedom started when I was young. I was only eighteen years of age. That’s when I found the Lord Jesus Christ or rather when he found me.
The Bible, the Word of the Living God, has a lot to say about FREEDOM!
