“A guy knows he’s in love when he loses interest in his car for a couple of days.” (Coffee News 9.11. 09)
I actually begin to believe that. One of these days I am going to count all the workshops here in Kaitaia which have to do with cars. There are many, believe me!
There is that article in the local paper today called: “MOTORISTS TALK TO CARS.”
In the article it says:
“A study of British motorists reveals that 23 percent of owners actually talk to their cars, while 20 percent give their motors a pet name.
More than two million drivers have a picture of the car on their mobile phone, and one and a half million are proud to either display a picture of their four – wheeled companion in their wallet or as a computer screen saver.”
A lot is said about the four – wheeled companion. The picture of the companion is on the mobile phone. The owners are proud to display a picture of the companion in the wallet or as a computer screen saver.
Here is actually a challenge for me. I have also a companion, a companion with 66 books. That is my Bible!
The dictionary says that a companion is a guidebook or handbook. The Bible, the Word of the Living God is my guidebook.
It is not only a guidebook for me, but for my neighbours as well.
Do I always have a copy with me? I should actually carry a Bible with me wherever I go.
I remember once meeting with a young man. He was special in every way! He had his Bible with him and put it on the table beside him while he was eating. I think he even read to me from that Bible.
On another occasion I should have had a Bible on me. One man wanted to know some verses in the Bible mentioning hell, like Matthew 5:22; Matthew 5:29,30; Matthew 10:28; Matthew 18:9; Matthew 23:15 and Matthew 23:33!
