SHACKLES or WINGS?

Are you worrying about the little duties of life? Are you grumbling about them? Are you dwelling upon the little duties, which you have to do mostly every day – every day? Like the dishes for example? The list of the little duties is in fact endless.
I am still thinking about the little duties. Otherwise I would not write about them just now. In the past I have been thinking quite a lot about the little duties
I have even talked about them – to a person I am very close to. And here is the answer I received, “I am not thinking about those things, I just do them.” No hint of worrying or grumbling in that answer.
And now I was really surprised, when I read the following in a very old book only a couple of days ago:  “Life is full of little duties. Worrying about them, grumbling about them, dwelling upon them makes the duties shackles which bind us, but just doing the duties makes them wings.” – Anonymous
The compiler of the old book is H. L. Gee and the book was first published in August 1945 and the title is: “Good in everything.” A very old book indeed.
I remember the answer I received: “I AM NOT THINKING ABOUT THOSE THINGS, I JUST DO THEM.”
Guess, who gave that answer!
