“Escape Holidays”

I am looking at a flyer with beautiful pictures. I picked it up some time ago. In Auckland I think it was at Christmas.

The first picture with a description  shows Tuscany in Italy, the second the  Ritz in London.

But in a special way I am interested in the writing at the top of the leaflet, where is written “Escape Holidays”. Underneath it talkes about “getaways”, not ordinary “getaways”, but unique “getaways”. It says there “UK & Europe unique Getaways”.

A getaway is the act of escaping. Criminals are escaping! When I escape, I get away or I break free from  a prison for example or from any other confinement. An escapee is an escaped prisoner.

But you know all that already.

There is a verse in the Bible, the Word of the Living God, that says “that we are all prisoners of sin”. Galatians 3:22 Read also First John 1:8

There is also an image of France on the flyer on the second page. That escape to France is rather expensive. It says there “4 nights from $2729pp*”. A very expensive “getaway”.

The problem is only that we are still a prisoner of sin when we are arriving in France. No matter where we are going, we are a prisoners of sin and we are remaining a prisoner of sin – until we receive God’s promise of freedom by believing in JESUS CHRIST.
