I found this in the United Maori Mission Prayer Bulletin July 2010:
“‘Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”‘ – Mark 1:17
“GO WHERE THE FISH ARE” –
They do not come to you as you sit on your couch watching TV. Don’t wait for some soul to come to you, but you go and find them.
“KEEP YOUR BAIT IN THE WATER” –
You never know when a fish will come along. Have your Bible or New Testament ready with you everywhere you go.
“BE SURE TO SET THE HOOK” –
Because they seldem hook themselves. Press for an immediate decision for Christ.
“IT IS EASIER TO CATCH THE LITTLE ONES” –
The reason some grow so big is because they were never caught. Childhood and youth is the time to win folk to Christ. The big ones become too smart. Some sinners know “too much” to be saved.
“KEEP YOUR HOOKS SHARP” –
To avoid losing the fish. Keep the hook sharp by prayer and appropiate memorized scripture passages.
Those who would be good ‘soul winners’ must remember that Jesus prefaced His invitation to be ‘fishers of men’ with the words “Come, follow me.”
