The Storm Today

“THESE MEN…”

Jude 12-13

Intr.:

“These men are

1. blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm-

2. shepherds who feed only themselves.

3. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind;

4. autumn trees, without fruit and  uprooted – twice dead.

5. They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame;

6. wandering stars, for whom the blackest darkness has been reserved forever.”

End:

PRAYER

“Satan dreads nothing but prayer. His one concern is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.” – Samuel Chadwick

SEEDS

“THE SEED THAT IS NURTURED WILL FLOURISH. UNNURTURED SEEDS FAIL TO FLOURISH”

That was written on the poster I saw today.

In Luke 8:11 the Bible says, “‘This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.'”

In First Corinthians 3:6 the apostle Paul says, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.”

“WALK THE TALK”

“WALK THE TALK” is the slogan one candidate standing for the Local Elections 2010 has chosen. I saw the poster today.

What a message for all of us: “WALK THE TALK!”

In Romans 2:17-29 the apostle Paul is asking a number of questions:

1. “you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? Romans 2:21

2. “You who preach against stealing, do you steal? Romans 2:21

3. “You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? Romans 2:22

Local Elections 2010

On the envelope I read, “Voting Document enclosed.” Among the contents of the letter is also a little booklet with instructions & candidate information. The candidates standing for election are listed under the elections they are standing for. On page five of the booklet it says, “You can read what the candidates have written about themselves and their policies in this booklet.” (Pictures of the candidates are also included.)

Let us say, you are one of the candidates, and you are a true follower of the Lord Jesus  Christ. Would you have told people that in the booklet?
