SECURITY

Psychiatrists are  concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. Modern psychiatrists are telling us that one of the basic needs of humans is security.

One of the big questions is of course CAN A BELIEVER EVER BE LOST? I am very much interested in the eternal security of the believer.

I am a Christian. I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I know the love of Christ. I know that I am justified by faith.

Once I was a poor sinner. But I have been regenerated by the Word and the Spirit of God. I have received new life and a new nature. I have been made partaker of the divine nature. I have been justified from  every charge  before the throne of God.

Can a believer ever be lost?

The Bible, the Word of the Living God, puts it this way:

“WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST?”  Romans 8:35

And here is the inspired answer:

Romans 8:38,39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able  to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are pretty save. I am pretty save.

What about you?

Or do you also say:

“GETTING TO HEAVEN IS LIKE RIDING A BICYCLE; IF I STOP, I WILL FALL OFF?”

“….LUCKY STARS…” (Again!)

There are already a number of “LUCKY STARS” posts on this blog, but not long ago I saw the following headline in The New Zealand Herald (Friday, February 11, 2011):

“‘I thank my lucky stars I still have one'”

I thank God, who is the creator of all things, including the  stars!

Revelation 4:11

“Thou art worthy, O LORD, to receive glory and honour and power:  for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy  pleasure they are and were created.”

DEBTS!

Big poster at one of our local banks:

“I’M DEBT CONSOLIDATION. THE NAME’S NOT FLASH, BUT PAYING OFF ALL YOUR DEBTS IN ONE PLACE IS.”

Please read Romans 13:8

“Let no debt  remain outstanding, except the continuing  debt to love one another,…”

“What are your Goals for the next 28 Days?”

“What are your goals for the next 28 days?”

That’s the question in the free 28-day KICKSTART 2011 diary towards a healthier and better you, I picked up yesterday at the local Amcal pharmacy.

I like to answer questions like that.

The KICKSTART 2011 Diary encourages us to get started and challenges us to concentrate on DIET, EXERCISE and LIFESTYLE or focus on them all.

We are also told to remember to make our goals SMART.

SPECIFIC

MEASURABLE

ATTAINABLE

RELEVANT

TIME-BOUND

My goals?

I focus on DIET, EXERCISE and LIFESTYLE,  but I am concentrating on my SPIRITUAL DIET!

My spiritual life needs food, spiritual food. I find spiritual food in the BIBLE, the Word of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the BREAD OF LIFE and the WATER OF LIFE.

My goal is to read through the Bible, all 66 books, at least once a year.

As you have noticed already, my goal is SPECIFIC.  Reading all 66 books of the BIBLE in 365 days.

My goal is also MEASURABLE. There are chapters in the Bible.

My goal is ATTAINABLE.  I have read through the Bible before in one year.

My goal is RELEVANT for my spiritual life. I don’t want to starve and lose my spiritual vitality. I need spiritual nourishment daily.

My goal is TIME-BOUND. The short-term timeline is to read every day a certain amount of chapters and the long-term timeline is reading all 66 books in 365 days.

What are your goals?
