“Don’t be caught Empty Handed!”

When I read today “Don’t be caught Empty Handed!”, a German hymn came to my mind. The words are by C. C. Luther (About 1850).

The hymn has four verses .

1. “Muss ich gehn mit leeren Haenden, so vor meinem Herrn zu stehn?
Kann ich keine Seel ihm bringen, keine einz’ge Garbe sehn?”
4. “O ihr Christen, wirket emsig, wirket, wie der Tag noch winkt;
werbet Seelen fuer den Heiland, eh auch euch die Sonne sinkt.”

THE HYMN IS  A CALL TO TELL OTHERS ABOUT THE LORD, AND THE HYMN WARMS MY HEART! (Personal Evangelism!)

“WHEN MOTHER NATURE TURNS NASTY”

That is one of The Herald’s headlines on the day following the earthquake in Christchurch. This is what the writer says in the article: “The force of the quake is numbingly powerful, the noise frightening, and hundreds of people run for the doorways.” –

The New Zealand Herald, Wednesday, Febr. 23, 2011.

The same paper has also a cartoon saying:

“The Hand of Mother Nature.”

In a moving address, just hours after the earthquake, Prime Minister John Key said,

“While nature has taken much of you, it cannot take your survivor’s spirit.”  –

This is one of the definitions of nature in The Collins Concise Dictionary: “the whole system of the existence, forces, and events of all physical life that are not controlled by man.”

MY QUESTION:

Who is controlling “the whole system of existence, forces, and events of all physical life that are not controlled by man”?

The Flyer in the Letter Box Today

The flyer informs us  of a complete water shutdown on Wednesday 2nd March 2011 from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The shutdown is required to improve the water supply to our street.

In the BIBLE we read about the LIVING WATER. The Lord Jesus Christ is saying to all those who are thirsty to come and to drink. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? If you do, streams of living water will flow from within you.

The LIVING WATER will never shut down.

Hebrews 13:8
