“THE CHILD – THE HEART OF THE MATTER”
(“Ko te Tamaiti te Putake o te Kaupapa”)
At the local library I picked up the booklet “Literacy in Early Childhood Services: Teaching and Learning” from the Education Review Office (February 2011).
And this is the first paragraph of the OVERVIEW:
“A Government priority for education is that every child achieves literacy and numeracy levels that enable success. A literate society is important for educational and economic reasons. There are also social, cultural and personal benefits for children developing good literacy knowledge and practices.”

One of the personal benefits is that the child is able to read the BIBLE, the Word of the Living God!
I remember teaching the BIBLE in many Schools in the KAIKOHE area.
I remember running Training Days for Bible in Schools Teachers in Kerikeri.
I remember getting the BIBLE into the hands of many children!
