“Several thousand families in New Zealand split up each year.”
I am reading that in the TEENAGERS’ GUIDE TO FAMILY SEPARATION. (New Zealand Family Courts)
When parents separate children (Teenagers) feel “alone”, “worried about the future”, the list goes on, and they need help.
In the GUIDE mentioned above they are encouraged to talk………. to talk…………to talk! They are encouraged to talk “to a friend”, to a brother or sister, to a teacher, to a special adult they trust, to their mum or to their dad. They are even told to talk to their pets.
It is good to have a friend to talk to. Do you have a friend? I have a friend. My friend is the Lord Jesus Christ!
When I am feeling lonely I talk to the Lord Jesus Christ and read his Word, the Bible. In Matthew 28:20 The Lord Jesus Christ says: “And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.”
When I am “worried about the future” I talk to the Lord Jesus Christ and thank him for his promise: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” – Jeremiah 29:11
When I am “frightened” I pray to the Lord Jesus Christ and thank him for the promise in Isaiah 43:1
The promise says: “‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'”
