Jonah 4:2-3

Intr.:

That is why I was so quick to flee to Tarshish.

I knew that you are

1. a gracious and

2. compassionate God,

3. slow to anger and

4. abounding in love,

5. a God who relents from sending calamity.

End:

Now, O LORD, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live.'”

Eight Times Every Hour!

Police respond eight times every hour  to a family  violence incident in New Zealand, I am reading in the booklet developed for the Campaign for Action on Family Violence.

Why are our relationships so unhealthy?

The answer? Because most people in this country don’t have a  relationship with their creator.

Sinners who have accepted Christ or rather sinners who have been accepted by the Lord Jesus Christ have access to the grace of God. They have access to salvation and prayer.

They are children of  God, a new creation, they are reconciled with God. They possess eternal life. They have peace. They have a blessed hope.

There is much much more……

But let me close with this promise: They are saved by Christ. “‘BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS, AND YOU WILL BE SAVED – YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD.” – Acts 16:31

“…. people’s greatest wants,……”

HAPPINESS, LOVE, HEALTH AND MONEY

“In  a recent global survey of  people’s greatest wants, happiness was number one, ahead of love and health, with money coming fourth – …..” (ALIVE magazine , Issue 8-2011, page 57, The article is called APPRECIATE THE MOMENT  by Lindsey Dawson)

1. Happiness

When I am thinking about happiness, THE BEATITUDES are coming to my mind. The eight Beatitudes are starting with “‘God blesses…..'” in most translations of the Bible. (NLT and NIV)

But read THE BEATITUDES in THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE and you will find that it says in Matthew 5:3

“Blessed –

happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous

[that is, with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favour and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions] –

are the poor in spirit

(the humble, rating themselves insignificant),

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!”

2. Love

3. Health

4. Money
