a mass of other people’s ideas –

and you have to work through it all.” – V. S. Naipaul

DO YOU HAVE LIFE IN YOUR YEARS?

“And in the end

it’s not the years in your life that count.

It’s the life in your years.” –

Attributed to Abraham Lincoln

My story:

More than 18 years without life.

More than 50 years with life.

What happened?

I was almost eighteen years of age when I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. What happens when one believes?

Many things are happening. One of them is that one receives ETERNAL LIFE. I am now in the possession of ETERNAL LIFE.

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” – John 10:28

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” – First John 5:13

DO YOU HAVE LIFE IN YOUR YEARS?

“……, WE WANT A LONGER HEALTH SPAN.”

“…., WE WANT  A LONGER  HEALTH SPAN.”

“Although we humans have never been satisfied with the biblical allotment of threescore and ten, neither do we want to extend our life span only to pass the time in a decrepit state. NO, WE WANT A LONGER HEALTH SPAN.

“Might we be  on the trail of one? The cover story, ‘A New Path to Longevity,’ by David Stipp, descibes……”

That’s what the editor in chief  Mariette DiChristina is writing in Scientific American, January 2012.

Why are we not satisfied with the biblical life span of threescore and ten? Why are we looking for a longer health span? Why are we searching for a trail to a longer health span?

We are longing for fellowship with our creator. We are looking for life without end in  fellowship with God. We are longing for the true life. We want eternal life.

How can we attain the true eternal life?

1.  We attain the eternal life through the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

a.  The death of Christ…

b. The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ……..

c.  His ascension

d. The Second Coming of Christ…..

2.  We attain the eternal life through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

What happens when we believe on the Lord?

Many things are happening when we believe, but here are a few of them:

a. We possess eternal life.

b.  Our names are recorded in heaven.

c.  The mansion of glory becomes ours.

d. We are indwelt by the Holy spirit.

In Ecclesiastes 3:11 we are told:

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from the beginning to end.”
