What do you have before you?
Leon Trotsky says this:
“Life is not an easy matter … you cannot live through it without falling into frustrations and cynicism unless you have before you a great idea which raises you above personal misery, above weakness, above all kinds of perfidy and baseness.”
The Bible says:
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, …”
The Lord Jesus Christ is not only the originator of our faith. He is also the perfecter of our faith.
The Bible says also:
“Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, …”
Why are we admonished to consider the Lord Jesus Christ? It keeps us first of all from growing weary. Secondly it keeps us from losing heart.
I have the Lord Jesus Christ before me.
I want to fix my eyes more on him and I want to consider him more. Reading the Bible, especially Hebrews chapter twelve will help me to do so.
