ORIGINAL OR COPY?

werner-150x150When I saw “Be yourself, because an original is worth more than a copy,” written on a small blackboard in one of our hairdressers salons here in Kaitaia, I was impressed and thought, “Yes, that is right, I can learn from that.”

But then I thought some more:

We know that a copy is an imitation of an original.

There are many books, but in “THE BOOK OF BOOKS” the apostle Paul says to imitate him. In the same book it says also that we should “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” In the “BOOK of BOOKS” it says also to imitate the faith of our leaders. We are also encouraged to imitate what is good and not what is evil. We are also encouraged to imitate God (Ephesians 5:1). In First Thessalonians Paul says this about the believers there, “You became imitators of us and of the Lord; …” “For you, brothers, became imitators of God’s churches in Judea, …”

Do you agree with me, that what is written on the blackboard is diametrically opposed to what the Bible, the Word of God, says?
