What do you know about SOLOMON?

This is what I learned:

There is first of all Solomon’s wisdom.

“God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.” – First Kings 4:29

Secondly we are reading about Solomon’s covenant with God.

Thirdly the sad thing happens: Solomon fails to keep the covenant.

His wives turned his heart from God. (First Kings 11:1-13)

“King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women…” – First Kings 11:1 “Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.” – First Kings 11:2

Fourthly and lastly the Bible tells us about his adversaries.

HADAD was an Edomite and an adversary of Solomon, raised up against him by the LORD.

REZON was a son of Eliada and an adversary of Solomon, raised up against Solomon by God.

JEROBOAM was one of Solomon’s officials and he rebelled against Solomon.

I KNOW THAT THE LIFE OF SOLOMON IS A SOLEMN WARNING FOR ALL OF US!

Finding Golden Nuggets!

I found another GOLDEN NUGGET today.

Do you expect someone to delight in you?

Think about it. If you delight in someone, you take great pleasure in that person. If you delight in someone you take extreme pleasure in that person.

I certainly don’t expect anybody to delight in me.

But wait  a minute!

Today I was looking for encouragement, and I found a GOLDEN NUGGET. I found a GOLDEN NUGGET in THE BOOK OF BOOKS, the Bible. In my reading of the Scriptures from cover to cover I finished reading the book called Second Samuel. There it says in chapter 22 in verse 20:

“He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” – Second Samuel 22:20

Of course, I don’t understand why the Lord delighted in me, but I know that he did!
