Life is a Predicament?

werner-150x150-e1367980712224Yesterday I came across the quote “Life is not a spectacle or a feast; it is a predicament,” by George Santayana.

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

Today is Tuesday, November 5, 2013 and I am reading again about “predicament”. In the “Daily Readings from the Works of Martyn Lloyd-Jones” selected by Frank Cumbers. Lloyd-Jones writes on November 5 that we are not only in a predicament, but that we are in a “terrible predicament”.

He points out that we are “victims of sin and of Satan,” and that we “must run to Christ.”

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Savior. We are saved “from” and “to”.

We are saved:

From the wrath to come – Romans 5:9.

From the curse of a broken law – Galatians 3:10.

We are saved:

To a relationship with God – John 1:12.

To eternal life – John 3:36.

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

Yes, life is a predicament!
