We are using the milk from cows as a food. We are doing the same with the milk from goats. Butter, cheese and more is made of milk.

Milk feeds and nourishes our body.
Milk is compared with the Torah (law), with the word of God.
The law, the Bible, feeds and nourishes the soul.
I don’t think we need encouragement to feed our body, but I think we need lots of encouragement to feed our soul.
In First Peter 2:2,3 it says,
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” (NIV)
How do we grow up in our salvation?
Does Peter give us the answer in his second letter? In Second Peter 1:5 he mentions the things we must add to our faith.
Here they are:
1. goodness, 2. knowledge, 3. self-control, 4. perseverance, 5. godliness, 6. brotherly kindness, 7. love.
And let us always remember what the Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 4:4:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Authorized Version)
