The poster on the entrance door to the Kaitaia office on the Main Street gives me “10 reasons to talk to LJ Hooker”.

LJ Hooker is a Real Estate Agency.

Seeing that encourages me to give you a number of reasons to talk to God.

God is the creator of all things. Talking with Jesus is called Prayer. “Prayer is the soul of man talking to God.”

Here are a number of reasons to talk to God:

1.  He is our Substitute.

The prophet Isaiah tells us about that in Isaiah 53.

He was a bearing substitute.  He was a crushed substitute. He was a silent substitute.

2.  He is our Ransom.

First Timothy 2:6 “… who gave himself a ransom for all men – …”

3.  He is our Power. The Bible teaches us about the power of His resurrection, grace, spirit, preservation, love, ministry and strength.

4.  He is our Example in Obedience.

In Philippians 2:8 we read about His obedience to death.

5.  He is our Example in Humility.

Philippians 2:5 commands us, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: “

Here are some illustrations  of Christ’s humility:

In the manger of His birth (Luke 2:7). In the asking for a drink (John 4:7). In the burial in another’s grave (Luke 23:53). In the borrowing of an ass (Matthew 21:2).

Maybe we can count the reasons to talk to LJ Hooker, but we will never be able to count the reasons to talk to God.
