“A fool TALKS, but a wise man SPEAKS,” I saw this afternoon written on the back of a small truck.
THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT FOOLS:
Proverbs 14:3: “A fools TALK brings a rod on his back …”
Ephesians 5:4: “Nor should there be obscenity, foolish TALK or coarse joking …”
Proverbs 18:7: “A fools mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.”
THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT WISE MEN AND WOMEN:
Proverbs 31:26: “She [The Wife of Noble Character] SPEAKS with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Proverbs 17:28: “Even a fool is thought wise, if he keeps silent, and discerning if he keeps his tongue.”
Proverbs 14:3: “A fools TALK brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect him.”
Proverbs 16:23: “A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.”
Do I begin now to understand why some people are not so interested in “small TALK.” in “light conversation for social occasions?”
