“Coincidence”

Looking through the window of the premises of the Salvation Army here in Kaitaia on Commerce Street today, (It is Friday and Waitangi Day) it seemed to me as if I saw copies of the WAR CRY (magazine) for coming Sunday on the small table in the foyer, which does not happen very often. Usually I pick up the magazine on Sunday in the hall, where the church service is being held.

I am familiar with all the pictures on the front pages of the previous issues, but this one had a Marae on the front page and that was new to me.

I was actually on my way to the coffee shop almost next door to the SA place, which I knew was open on this holiday. Drinking my coffee and watching what was going on on the street in front of the shop, I was surprised to see the Salvation Army officers/ministers with some other people going to the door of the SA premises and I was wondering if they would unlock the building and enter it.

Leaving my coffee for the moment  and the shop I looked, and yes, the group entered the building and I was able to find out if it was the WAR CRY for coming Sunday. And yes, it was. What a surprise!

I know that “COINCIDENCE. WHEN GOD CHOOSES TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS” has been used as a church sign.
