“Grumpy old man,” was written on the front of the man’s shirt and that made me have a short conversation with him.
That made me also remember an article in the paper which said about a particular man that he was not a “grumpy old man”.
Some time ago I read also “Grumpy old Woman” on the number plate of a car. When I told the owner that I liked her number plate she said to me that she gets grumpier and grumpier. (I wonder if she looked too often at the number plate and read it.)
With old age the days of trouble are coming. And what do we say about the years of old age? We say that we don’t like them very much. Have you ever heard people say, “Old age is not for sissies?” or “I like to die with my boats on?”
That’s why the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:1:
“Remember your creator in the days of your youth.”
Please read the whole last chapter of the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible in the Old Testament.
I cannot tell you if the man mentioned in the article of the newspaper at the beginning who was not a “grumpy old man” remembered his creator in the days of his youth.
But please remember your creator, the earlier the better, but please remember!
