CHILDREN’S DAY – 1 March

I am learning that Children’s Day is an annual celebration, that the message is to “treasure our children,” and that the aim is to spend time with the children.

How do we highly prize our children? How do we highly value our children? How do we regard our children as precious?

How do we “treasure our children”?

If we really want to know, we must turn to the Bible.

"Treasure our Children"

“Treasure our Children”

The “Book of Books” has the following message for us:

We must fix the commands of the LORD in our hearts and our minds.

What are the commands of the LORD? Three things:

1. We must love the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. We must walk in  all the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. We must hold fast to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are also told to tie the commands of the LORD as symbols on our hands and to bind them on our foreheads.

We must also teach our CHILDREN to love the Lord, to walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him.

The Bible tells us also to talk about the commands all the time,….. in our homes, on the street, when we are lying down and when we are getting up.

In Deuteronomy 11:20 we are also told to to

“Write them on the door frames of our houses and on our gates.”

But how can we teach the commands of the Lord to our children, when we ourselves do not  have the commands of the Lord  fixed in our hearts and minds?

Do you have the commands of the Lord fixed in your heart and mind?
