“How do you respond to this article?” and “What concerns you?” are only two of the five questions I find at the end of the article.
The article is called “A NEW KIND OF CHURCH”. (The NZ Baptist Magazine, v. 131 no 1)
The word “change” is highlighted, besonders at the beginning of the article.
We are told what has changed rapidly: Culture, our world, schedules, relationships and understanding.
The questions is asked, “How should we respond to a rapidly changing culture?
I say that the heart of man has not changed and that the Gospel has not changed and that the Word of God has not changed. In Acts 1:8 we read:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
PERSONAL EVANGELISM (PE) was one subject when I attended Bible school.
Why should every Christian be a soul winner? was a question asked in the course.
Six answers were given to that question. I like especially this answer: It is the only biblical explanation why a child of God, whose citizenship is in heaven, remains in this world.
Second Corinthians 5:17:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
Philippians 3:20:
“But our citizenship is in heaven.”
If I would not find those five questions at the end of the article, I wonder if I would respond at all.
