WISDOM

The book of Proverbs in the Bible begins with a warning against rejecting WISDOM.

There we are also told how we can live without FEAR of harm. Harming people means to injure them physically, morally or mentally. Fear of harm is everywhere. We are afraid.

While working in Thailand as a missionary many years ago, I was at one time in Bangkok listening to pastor Yongi Cho preach. I remember that his sermon had four points, one point was FEAR, the other three I have forgotten. I remember him saying that it is quite frightening to drive on the streets in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

Using  a taxi in Bangkok I used to tell the driver that it is better to go slowly than to die in a hurry. In thai of course.

PEOPLE WITHOUT FEAR OF HARM LIVE IN SAFETY.

Freedom from danger, freedom from the risk of injury means living in safety.

PEOPLE WITHOUT FEAR OF HARM ARE AT EASE.

Freedom from discomfort, worry and anxiety means living at ease.

How can we live now in safety? How can we now be at ease? We must listen. We must listen to WISDOM.

The invitation to listen goes out to “whoever”.

In Proverbs 1:33 we read: “but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

Listen also to what it says in First Corinthians 1:30: “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us WISDOM from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.”
