In her book THE PASTOR’S WIFE, Sabina Wurmbrand tells the story of a boy standing at the beach and waving to a ship on the ocean. That steamer will not change its course  because of the waving of the little boy, thinks a man who observes all that. He had hardly told the boy how silly he was, when the steamer changed its course and picked up the boy at his side.

While the steamer took off the boy stood on the bridge and with his loudest voice called to the man at the beach that he was not a fool and that the captain was his father.

In the last sentence of the book the author says that we know two things about God who steers the universe on its course:

We don’t only know that God is our Father, but that He also hears our prayers.
