During our lifetime we are asking many questions. But there is one question that is of uttermost importance and that is the question: “AM I GOING TO HEAVEN?” Have you ever asked that question?
We must also ask: What are the requirements to go to heaven?
1. Is obedience required, obedience to what it says in the Bible? What does the Word of God say to that? What does it says in Romans 3:28? “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.” Read Romans 3:19-28.
THIS WAY IS IMPOSSIBLE.
2. Are we required to live a good life, to do our best, to give money or other things to charity? What do we read about that in the Bible? In Titus 3:5 the Apostle Paul gives us the following answer: “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”

THESE THINGS CANNOT SAVE US.
3. What about doing good works, living according to the Golden Rule, and giving money to the church. Are those things required? Let us see what the Bible says. Ephesians 2:8,9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”
DOING GOOD WORKS CANNOT SAVE US.
4. Are prayers required? Is regular church attendance required or church membership? Is fasting required? We go again to the Bible for an answer. Romans 11:6 says, “And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.”
THESE THINGS CANNOT SAVE US.
5. Are the requirements Water baptism or Holy Communion? The Bible says in Romans 4:5, “However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.”
THESE TWO THINGS ARE FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY SAVED.
6. We are born of Christian parents. Does that save us? Again we find the answer in the Bible. Read what it says in Romans 9:8 and John 1:12,13. “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God (John 1:12,13).
CHRISTIAN PARENTS CANNOT SAVE US.
7. Confirmation, Penances, Extreme Unction. Required or not? Let us hear what the Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 15:9 “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (King James Version)
THESE DOCTRINES ARE MAN-MADE. THE BIBLE DOES NOT TEACH THESE DOCTRINES.
Only faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can save us.
In Acts 16:30 the jailer asked, “‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?'” What is the answer? “‘Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved – you and your household.'”
