In the near future we will have to consider some alternative New Zealand flag designs.

About Churches and Family Violence
About selling of churches I am reading on the front page in one of our local papers. (NORTHERN NEWS, Wednesday, August 26, 2015)
On page 5 (the same paper), I am told about Family Violence. The two peak times of Family Violence are WINTER, June – August, and CHRISTMAS.
In winter, because of the bad weather people are cooped up inside and going on each others nerves. At Christmas the problem is the increase of alcohol consumption and financial stress.
There is talk about selling churches, because there are only a handful of people coming to the services and there are no young people, no young families.

THE BIBLE MORE THAN BREAD
Some time ago I made an effort again to learn verses from the Bible by heart. (From the age of 22- 25 I attended Bible school and we were told to memorize Bible verses, but I did no do well at all.) I commit verses to memory and then write them down without looking them up in the Bible, one verse on one page. I collect them in a ring binder as seen on the image. It is good to stick to one translation, NIV for example.
And this is how the Lord encouraged me:
At the present time I am reading the book THE PASTOR’S WIFE by Sabina Wurmbrand and there she says while in prison she wished that she would have learnt more of the Bible by heart. They did not have a Bible. They hungered for the Bible more than bread. They received hope, comfort and life from the Word of God.
Here are some of the verses you find in my ring binder: Second Chronicles 20:12; First Corinthians 3:11; Second Corinthians 3:17.
And this is the verse I really like: “For no one can lay ony foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” You find that verse in First Corinthians 3:11!

“TOP SELLING GUIDE BOOKS”
“New Zealand’s Top Selling Guide Books,” says the advertisement in the magazine, and I am interested for several reasons.
The ad tells us about Books, Charts and ‘How To’ guides. The price of the charts and books is printed at the top and at the bottom is the information where they are available.
The titles are CAPE TO CAPE, TRAMPING, GOLFING, FISHING, CAMPING, WALKING, HUNTING and there are more titles.
I am not really all that familiar with those guides, but I am interested in the titles Cape to Cape, Camping and Walking. Walking has been my exercise for quite some time now.
But I am very familiar with another guide book, the Bible. The Bible is the guide book to everlasting life.
Large portions of the Bible were written by uneducated men, but the Bible is considered a literary masterpiece.
The Bible has been a hated book. Governments have tried to do away with it. But the Lord has preserved the Bible. I am wondering if there is any house where you don’t find a Bible. I think not a few are full of dust.
Think about the wonder of the age of the Bible. The Bible is the oldest of all books.
But what about the wonder of the sale of the Bible?
THE BIBLE IS THE WORLD’S BEST SELLER OF ALL TIME!
