“PHARMACY
Caring for You!”
it says on the paper bag, I received today at our pharmacy.
How it cheers me up to read that. Life is so full of anxieties.
A proverb says: “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”
Who does not know about moments of anxiety? Nobody is free from moments of despondency.
Let me encourage you with moments of despondency in the Lives of Good Men:
1. MOSES: Numbers 11:15 Moses asked the Lord to put him to death.
2. JOSHUA: Joshua 7:7 Joshua was afraid that the Amorites would destroy the people.
3. ELIJAH: First Kings 19:4 He prayed that he might die. He told the Lord that he had enough. (Our story?) He told the Lord to take his life.
4. JOB: Job 10:1 Job loathed his life.
5. DAVID: Psalm 42:6 David said that his soul was downcast.
6. JEREMIAH: Jeremiah 15:10 Jeremiah laments that the whole land strives with him, that the whole land contends with him. He says that everyone curses him.
7. THE DISCIPLES: Luke 24:17 When the Lord asked them what they were discussing, they stood still with their faces downcast.
In the Bible it says: “CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON HIM, BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.”
I don’t know how much the pharmacy cares, but I know that I can trust the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
