UNLIMITED SERVICE

SERVICE

SERVICE

“GO THE EXTRA MILE,” I saw written at the top of a number plate when coming home today.

It speaks of service. What is service? “Service is love in work clothes,” is a definition someone sent me some time ago. I am writing this during Mental Health Awareness Week – 5-11 October 2015 – and GIVING, “Doing things for others,” I am told is one of the keys to happier living.

“‘If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles,'” says the Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew. (Matthew 5:41)

Here we are reminded again of  unlimited service.

“But the thing here demanded is a readiness to submit to unreasonable demands of whatever kind, …” explains the Commentary on the whole Bible (Regency Reference Library).

Business people realising that it is profitable to “Go the extra Mile.” On the back of a truck I see quite often here in town is the message:

“IF YOU MEAN TO PROFIT, LEARN TO PLEASE.”

"Profit" and "PLEASE"

“Profit” and “PLEASE”

“REMEMBER TO PUT THE GLASS DOWN.”
