“‘HOW WILL THIS BE?'”

“‘How will this be?'”

Questions like that asks the natural man, when it comes to the things of God. The reason for that is that the BIBLE speaks about things that seem to be impossible.

A.  In LUKE 1:34 Mary asked the angel a question:

There we read, “‘How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?'”

How

“‘How will this be,’Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?'”

B.  In LUKE 1:18 Zechariah asked the angel a question:

There it says, “Zechariah asked the angel, ‘How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years?'”

C.  In GENESIS 15:7,8 Abraham asked the Lord a question:

In verse eight it says, “But Abraham said, ‘O Sovereign LORD, how can I know that I will take possession of it?'”

D.  In JOHN 3:4 Nicodemus asked the Lord a question:

We read there, “‘How can a man be born, when he is old?’ Nicodemus asked. ‘Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!'”

“‘HOW WILL THIS BE?'” We do not know. But it happens. The KINGDOM OF GOD is full of miracles.

Christmas with the Family

The question is:

“I’m going to spend this Christmas with my in-laws. I’m already dreading it as I find it stressful – how can I make it more enjoyable for all of us?” (War Cry, Issue 6631)

In the answer I am reading about “clash of family cultures” and “completely different family dynamics.”

"Merry Christmas"

“Merry Christmas”

CHRISTMAS AT WHANGAPARAOA

The house of my parents in – law was not far from everything, the church, the beach, and the shopping centre. The place was ideal for our Christmas holiday as a family.

I remember one Christmas swimming alone in the water at Arkles Bay, the beautiful weather, the clear and calm water.

Hours were spent in the coffee shops at the Plaza.

The Whangaparaoa Baptist Church is sort of built on a hill and when looking through the window while singing and standing one was looking on the ocean.

I was always looking forward to Christmas while working in Kaikohe as a missionary with my parents in – law and other members of the family in Whangaparaoa.

We have the same family dynamic, the same family culture.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Saviour.

“MY YEAR” (The Year 1958)

“Make 2016 your year!” says the North Tec advertisement in our local paper.

I don’t need to make the next year my year. Why? Because the year 1958 was “my year”.

Let me tell you about it:

In September 1958 I became a Christian.

There is only one way to become a Christian and that is by being born again. That means being born by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are passing from darkness to light. We have a second birthday. We are beginning a new life.

I went to a Bible school, applied to a missionary society, and went to Thailand as a missionary …

The new birth is the instrument that brings us into the family of God. The new birth is the door to salvation. The new birth is the door to heaven.

And I did not make the year 1958 my year. The Lord Jesus Christ made the year 1958 “my year”.

HOPE AND PEACE

“May every sunrise bring you hope. May every sunset bring you peace.”

After reading that I looked up “hope” and “peace” in the concordance at the end of my Bible.

A. HOPE

Hope and Peace

Hope and Peace

– First Timothy 4:9,10 “This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labour and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, and especially of those who believe.”

I have put my HOPE in the living God.

–  First Timothy 6:17 “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”

B. PEACE

– Ephesians 2:14,15 “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.”

The Lord Jesus Christ is my PEACE.

My hope comes from God and my peace comes from God, who created the sun.

“God made two great lights – the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.” – Genesis 1:16
