Christmas with the Family

The question is:

“I’m going to spend this Christmas with my in-laws. I’m already dreading it as I find it stressful – how can I make it more enjoyable for all of us?” (War Cry, Issue 6631)

In the answer I am reading about “clash of family cultures” and “completely different family dynamics.”

"Merry Christmas"

“Merry Christmas”

CHRISTMAS AT WHANGAPARAOA

The house of my parents in – law was not far from everything, the church, the beach, and the shopping centre. The place was ideal for our Christmas holiday as a family.

I remember one Christmas swimming alone in the water at Arkles Bay, the beautiful weather, the clear and calm water.

Hours were spent in the coffee shops at the Plaza.

The Whangaparaoa Baptist Church is sort of built on a hill and when looking through the window while singing and standing one was looking on the ocean.

I was always looking forward to Christmas while working in Kaikohe as a missionary with my parents in – law and other members of the family in Whangaparaoa.

We have the same family dynamic, the same family culture.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Saviour.
