Losing and Winning wars.
This is the meaning (translation) of a German quote, I came across recently in English:
Many wars were lost because the commanders were more interested in advance (gaining ground) than supplies and reinforcement.
I am asking myself now two questions:
a. Am I more interested in advance?
b. Am I more interested in supplies?
Many years ago I heard the story of a preacher who had a tremendous public ministry – and suffered from burnout. Why? because he neglected his QUIET TIME with the Lord.
Can we not say:
Many wars were won because the commanders were more interested in supplies (reinforcement) than advance (gaining ground)?
And here is the quote in German:
“Viele Kriege gingen verloren, weil sich die Feldherren mehr fuer Vormarsch als fuer Nachschub interessierten.” – Ernst Reinhard
