Rewards for loyalty.
When I received an email not many days ago I looked up the word “loyalty” in my Bible and I was also reminded of my Coffee Loyalty Card.
“Hi there, just for being a loyal Vodafone customer we want to give you $5 Prepay credit for free! Simply reply YES by 9am Monday & we’ll add $5 credit to your account on Tuesday # rewardingloyalty,” said the email.
On my Coffee Loyalty Card I read at the bottom, “Every tenth cup is free. Only standard coffee will be offered.”
I find the word “loyalty” in the New International Version at least twice, in Psalm 78:8 and First Chronicles 29:18.
In Psalm 78:8 the Psalmist tells us about the stubborn and rebellious forefathers. Their hearts were not loyal to God. In First Chronicles 29:18 David prays that the hearts of the people of God may be kept loyal forever.
In Colossians 3:24 we are told about a reward for people with a loyal heart to God, namely an inheritance. First Peter 1:4 says that our inheritance is kept for us in heaven, and can never perish, spoil or fade.
