“‘The time is surely coming,’ says the Sovereign LORD, ‘when I will send a famine on the land – not a famine of bread and water, but of hearing the word of the LORD.'” – Amos 8:11

“Faith and works should travel side-by-side, step answering to step, like the legs of men walking. First faith, and then works; and then faith again, and then works again – until they can scarcely distinguish which is the one and which is the other.” – William Booth
“People Reaching People”
“People reaching people,” was written on the plastic shopping bag from the post shop I saw yesterday on our kitchen table.
There are many reasons why people are reaching people.
What is now the most important reason?
People reaching people with the GOSPEL is the most important reason.
There are 4 GOSPELS in our Bible and in all 4 we find THE GREAT COMMISSION:
Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-18; Luke 24:44-49; John 20:19-23.
Notice also that we find THE GREAT COMMISSION at the end of the GOSPELS.
And what does it say in Acts 1:8?
“‘But you will receive power when the HOLY SPIRIT comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in JERUSALEM and in all JUDEA and SAMARIA and to the END OF THE EARTH.'”
The Missionary Society WEC International says, “reaching people, planting churches, mobilising mission.” It says also: “Spreading the GOSPEL where it is thinnest”.
“People reaching people.”
Is the Lord calling you to a place where the GOSPEL is thinnest, or where there are people who are so far unreached?

WHAT DO I SEE?
What do I see?
In John 6 the Lord Jesus Christ fed the 5,000.
A. Philip saw the cash – there was not enough.
B. Andrew saw the crowd – there were too many people.
C. The boy saw the Lord Jesus Christ – he was sufficient.
What do you see? I hope you don’t mind me asking that question.
Weighing Ourselves
“It is well frequently to weigh ourselves on the scales of God’s Word.” – C. H. Spurgeon
TIME
“GOD HAS TIME FOR YOU, DO YOU HAVE TIME FOR HIM?”
“Life is …”
“Life is like a roll of toilet paper – the nearer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.”
