The best answer so far I found in the book I DARED TO CALL HIM FATHER.

Here it is: “REPENTANCE, I DISCOVERED, WAS NOT TEARFUL REMORSE SO MUCH AS ADMITTING WHERE I HAD GONE WRONG AND AVOWING WITH HIS HELP NEVER TO MAKE THAT MISTAKE IN THE FUTURE.”

“WENN DU DENKST, DU BIST ZU KLEIN, UM ETWAS ZU BEWIRKEN, HAST DU NOCH NIE EINE NACHT MIT EINER STECHMUECKE VERBRACHT.”
