He is repeating the annual summer safely message:

1. Wearing life jackets.
2. Travelling at a safe speed.
3. The need for dive flags.
4. Lowering the wake while crossing harbours.

AUCKLAND: Harbour

One of the books in my small library is written by a German Evangelist called Anton Schulte. GOTTES 10 GEBOTE (Spielregeln fuers Leben) is the title of the book. In English: GOD’S 10 COMMANDMENTS (Rules for our Life).

We find the ten Commandments in Exodus chapter twenty. Here they are:

1. Exodus 20:1: “‘I am the LORD your God, …'”
2. Exodus 20:3: “‘You shall no other gods before me.'”
3. Exodus 20:7: “‘You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, …'”
4. Exodus 20:8: “‘Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.'”
5. Exodus 20:12: “‘Honor your father and mother, …'”
6. Exodus 20:13: “‘You shall not murder.'”
7. Exodus 20:14: “‘You shall not commit adultery.'”
8. Exodus 20:15: ”’You shall not steal.'”
9. Exodus 20:16: “‘You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.'”
10. Exodus 20:17: “‘You shall not covet your neighbors house.'”

Just as the harbour master is urging boaties to follow the water safety rules, God is commanding us to follow his rules for our life for our own good.

Some time ago I did not quite know the answer to that question.

There is no doubt that the Bible comes first. The reason for that is that the author of the Bible is the Holy Spirit. I remember also that the Lord Jesus Christ says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” You find that in Matthew 24:35

But lately I have read the five books by G. F. Dempster. The title of the first book is “FINDING MEN FOR CHRIST.” The other four books have different titles, but they are also about Personal Evangelism. (P. E.)

“VON ROM ZU CHRISTUS”

At the present time I am also blessed by reading testimonies by catholic priests. They are telling how they came out of darkness into light. I have two volumes in German, altogether 50 stories. The two books were sent to me by friends in Germany long ago, and I think I remember that correctly. ENGLISH: FAR FROM ROME, NEAR TO GOD, Banner of Truth, 1997.

Now I know which books come second. I think the reason why I did not quite know the answer to the above question (Which books come second?) is, I love also the Expositions of Books of the Bible by D. M. Lloyd-Jones.
