PLACES

“A love of books can lead to all kinds of places,” it says in a magazine. (The People’s Friend No. 7633)

That is also my experience.

The magnifying glass is a real help to read The Life Application Study Bible

The book I really love is “The Book of Books,” the Bible. The Bible is the guide to everlasting life. The Bible is the guide to Heaven and Heaven is a perfect place.

Heaven is a place of perfect satisfaction. In Revelation 22:1,2 we read about a pure river of water of life and a tree with 12 kinds of fruit.

Is that not a picture of perfect leisurely comfort?

WHAT A PLACE!

HOW OLD ARE YOU?

Yesterday morning I talked to a very old man who lives on our street.

He was getting the mail out of his letterbox. He is now 101 years old and he told me that next year in October he will be 102, and he told me also that he still has his driver licence.

I would have never thought that I would one day talk to a man that old.

AM NEUNZIG MEILEN STRAND IN NEUSEELAND

Ninety Mile Beach

Ninety Mile Beach

In the paper today (The Northern Advocate, Saturday, December 17, 2016):

Zwei Touristen sind am Ertrinken am Neunzig Meilen Strand hier im Norden von Neuseeland. Unter Lebensgefahr bringt ein Polizist beide an Land; der Mann lebt, aber die Frau stirbt. Welch eine Traurigkeit.

Die Touristen sind Deutsche.

“CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS”

Here are at least three reasons why the Lord Jesus Christ died:

A. Romans 6:10 “… he died once to break the power of sin.”

That means that I should consider myself to be dead to the power of sin.

B. Hebrews 9:15 “For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of sins they had committed under the first covenant.”

"Christ died for our sins"

“Christ died for our sins”

The Lord Jesus Christ is the final and perfect sacrifice not only for us, but also for the people of the Old Testament times.

C. First Peter 3:19 “… but He died for sinners to bring them safely home to God.”

I can only say “Praise the Lord to that.”

Revelation 2:8 says, “This is the message from the one who is the First and the Last, who was dead but is now alive: ‘I know …'”

The Lord Jesus Christ was dead, but He is now alive. Once more, “Praise the LORD.”
