Long ago I was pointed to Deuteronomy 29:29. There we read about secret things and revealed things.

Recently I picked up a book I should have read long ago. There are people who object to the Christian Faith. And this book is responding to the objections we usually hear.

One of the objections is of great interest to me. People say, “There is so much evil in the world. How is that possible if there is a God?’

What is the answer to that question? Let us remind ourselves also that the Bible says in First Peter 3:15, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for your hope.”

Have you ever asked, “Where does evil come from? Where did evil originate?”

Once more, what is the answer?

There is no satisfactorily answer to the question, “Where did evil originate?”

We cannot explain the existence of evil.

Deuteronomy 29:29 teaches that “the secret things belong to the Lord our God” and that “the things revealed belong to us and our children forever.’

Where did evil originate? The answer to that question belongs to the secret things of the Lord!
