READING THE BIBLE THROUGH
That an opera singer began reading the BIBLE through at the rate of three times a year, when she became a Christian, I am told in the book L’ABRI by Edith Schaeffer. The book L’ABRI is one book you should read, if you have not done so already.
I am also in the habit of reading the Scriptures from cover to cover, starting at the beginning of each year with GENESIS. That is the first book of the Bible. I did that also this year. (2017), and arrived at the book of Ezekiel today. (21.06. 2017)
Let me also add that reading the Bible from cover to cover for me means reading every word.
This is a verse I have marked in Lamentations. Lamentations is before Ezekiel. In Lamentations 3:38 it says:
“IS IT NOT FROM THE MOUTH OF THE MOST HIGH THAT BOTH CALAMITIES AND GOOD THINGS COME?”
As yet I have not read the Bible through at the rate of three times a year, not even when I came out of darkness into life, from death into life, but I remember one year, now some time ago, reading the Bible through at the rate of two times (twice) a year, and every word.
Reading the Bible through is very important, to get the overall picture. How many times are you doing that on one year?
