MEN’S HEALTH WEEK
MEN’S HEALTH WEEK
June 12-18, 2017
We are reading and hearing a lot about physical health, but not so much about spiritual health, especially now with Men’s Health Week coming up. (June 12-18, 2017)
A whole page in our local paper tells us about physical health. (The Northland Age, Thursday 8, 2017)
I like especially the picture where three people are holding up posters, a Media Personality, a Doctor, and a Registered Master Builder.
On the poster the Registered Master Builder is holding up it says: “BUILD HEALTH FOUNDATIONS.”
The article in the paper tells us also how we can build our healthy foundations. It is all about reducing, reducing portion sizes, reducing fats, reducing salt, reducing sugar, and reducing alcohol.
Of course, building our physical health foundations is important, but our spiritual foundation is more important.
There is only one spiritual foundation, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Bible, in First Corinthians 3:11 it says:
“FOR NO ONE CAN LAY ANY FOUNDATION OTHER THAN THE ONE ALREADY LAID WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST.”
Because there is already so much talk about physical health, can I encourage you to talk more about our spiritual health?

Sermon Outline – OT – NIV
PART ONE:
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
Isaiah 55:10
Intr.:
and do not return to it
- without watering the earth and
- making it bud and flourish,
- so that it yields
seed for the sower and
bread for the eater,
PART TWO:
Isaiah 55:11
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
Intr.:
it will not return to me
- empty,
- but will accomplish what I desire and
- achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
