“‘As a man thinketh so is he,’ is really most profound,” says Francis A. Schaeffer.
The Lord Jesus Christ tells us in the Bible that evil thoughts come out of our hearts and they are listed in Mark 7:21 and 22:
“sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.” Please read The Ten Commandments in Exodus chapter twenty.
But we want to follow Paul’s advice in Philippians 4:8. We want to think about things that are: true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.
Hear what Mark Twain has to say about doing right:
“ALWAYS DO RIGHT – THAT WILL GRATIFY SOME AND ASTONISH THE REST.”
Are we thinking about such things that are evil or are we thinking about such things that are excellent and praiseworthy?
And F. A. Schaeffer once more:
“I believe people are as they think. The choices we make in the next decade will mold irrevocably the direction of our culture … and the lives of our children.”
