We hear and read sermons and teachings. How do we evaluate sermons and teachings?

We must always compare what we hear and read with what the Bible says.

Not long ago I compared what I read with what the Bible says and it contradicted what the Bible teaches.

A long time ago I attended a Bible school in Germany, but I think I remember correctly that one of my teachers said quite often, “BUT WHAT IS WRITTEN?” He meant of course, “But what is written in the Bible?”

I remember also Billy Graham saying again and again in his preaching: “The Bible says!”

And what did our Lord Jesus Christ answer in Matthew chapter 4, when he was tempted by the devil?

He answered three times, “IT IS WRITTEN.” Matthew 4:4; Matthew 4:7 and Matthew 4:10. (King James Version)

If the Bereans read the Bible for themselves and examined the Scriptures to verify or disapprove the message of the Apostle Paul, how much more must we study the Bible every day to see if what we hear or read is true?
