“IN THE DAY OF SALVATION”

At the beach

“Seize the day,” comes to my mind. I saw the sign not long ago in one of the shops here in town, and it was really beautifully done. Next time when I am in that shop again, I must ask for how much its sells.

“‘In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you,'” we read in the prophet Isaiah. You find the verse in Isaiah 49:8.

“HELP IN TIME OF NEED,” is written on the first page of one of my New Testaments. There are quite a number of headings with verses from the Bible, like “PEACE in Time of Anxiety, COURAGE in Time of Fear, etc.

Under the heading “The WAY of Salvation” the following three verses from the Bible are listed:

John 3:3:

“Jesu replied, ‘I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.'” (NLT)

John 3:16

“‘For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (NLT)

Romans 10:9

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (NLT)

In his Second letter to the Corinthians the Apostle Paul does not only say, “‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you,’ but he says also,

“I TELL YOU, NOW IS THE TIME OF GOD’S FAVOR, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION.” (Second Corinthians 6:1,2)

Please “seize the day.”

I am really interested in the sign “seize the day,” but I forgot to ask how much it costs when I was in town today.

B. ‘But what about you?’ he asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’

Peter answered,

  • ‘The Christ of God.’

End:

Jesus strictly warned them not to tell anyone.”

“MAKING THE MOST OF LIVING”

At the beach

“Making the most of living,” I am finding at least 44 times in the 2017-18 magazine called “Getting out there.” In the magazine we find  information & services relating to disability in our area.

“Making the most of living.”

In First John 5:12 it says:

“WHOEVER HAS THE SON HAS LIFE; WHOEVER DOES NOT HAVE THE SON OF GOD DOES NOT HAVE LIFE.”

This verse teaches about ETERNAL LIFE:

Those who believe in God’s Son have eternal life. We do not need to wait for eternal life. Eternal life begins when we believe.

That’s why we are actually “making the most of living” the moment we believe in God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord called me out of darkness into his wonderful light when I was in my teens. (First Peter 2:9)

Quote

“THEY HAVE DISCOVERED A NEW CURE FOR WEIGHT LOSS, DEPRESSION ETC. THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE TAKING MEDICATION AND ALSO HAS NO SIDE EFFECTS AND IT’S CALLED, EXERCISE.” – Mark Simpson

ONE THING I LOVE:

One thing Joshua Duinker loves is reading his Bible.

For those who do not know: He is a professional basketball player. And he says, “This year is the second time that I’m reading the whole Bible in a year.”

I am reading that in the magazine called WARCRY 29 July 2017.

And one thing I love is hearing about people who read the Bible from cover to cover, every word.

Please let me know if you also belong to those people.

I belong to those people and I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for that!

“the Word of the LORD.”

The Cross

“‘But I tell you

Luke 6:227-31

Introduction:

who hear me:

  • Love your enemies,
  • do good to those who hate you,
  • bless those who curse you,
  • pray for those who mistreat you.
  • If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also.
  • If someone takes you cloak, do not stop hin from taking your tunic.
  • Give to everyone who asks you, and
  • if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
  • Do to others as you would have them do to you.'”

“SMALL THINGS”

“Do small things with great passion,” is written on the small, beautiful card, I am looking at.

I found the beautifully written card together with other things in a small parcel, I received today by courier. It is always a joy to receive post, especially parcels from loved ones.

But what a challenge it is to do the small things with enthusiasm every day! Or don’t you think that doing the dishes day-in and day-out is a small thing? I think it is.

DISHES: They need to be dried.
