MANGONUI TODAY: Off the beaten track.
What does the BIBLE says about debt?
“Inhumanly big home loans,” is the article on MONEY MATTERS called in one of our newspapers. (Northern News, October 25, 2017)
The writer of the article gives three Golden Rules:
“Keep debt to sane limits”
“Make extra repayments”
“Kill debt fast”
I have read something similar when seeing “MONEY MATTERS” articles in other newspapers. I like especially rule number three: “KILL DEBT FAST.”
The Bible says in Romans 13:8 this about debt:
“LET NO DEBT REMAIN OUTSTANDING, EXCEPT THE CONTINUING DEBT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER, FOR HE WHO LOVES HIS FELLOW MAN HAS FULFILLED THE LAW.”
“For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt.” – Isaiah 59:3
There is PHYSICAL food and there is SPIRITUAL food.
I cannot help thinking about my time in THAILAND as a missionary, when I see all the Asian food shops here in Kaitaia and all over the country, especially the Thai food shops.

Just as the Asian food shops bring their special PHYSICAL food to this country, missionaries bring SPIRITUAL food to the Asian countries, THAILAND for example.
Yes, food for our bodies is very important, but food for our spirits is more important, because we don’t “live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. (Deuteronomy 8:3)

SEE THAT YOU ALSO EXCEL IN THIS GRACE OF GIVING.”
