Russell

IN THE NORTH OF NEW ZEALAND: Russell

In 15 to 20 minutes the Paihia / Russell ferry takes you from Paihia to Russell. The straight line is 3 km I was told by the skipper. Before 1844 Russell was called Kororareka.

Not long ago I enjoyed not only the journey on the ferry from Paihia to Russell, but also the tranquillity and beauty of Russell, the quiet seaside village.

CHRISTMAS

HRISTMAS

“WHO CAN ADD TO CHRISTMAS? THE PERFECT MOTIVE IS THAT GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD. THE PERFECT GIFT IS THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS TO BELIEVE IN HIM. THE REWARD OF FAITH IS THAT YOU SHALL HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.” – Corrie Ten Boom

Quote

“THERE IS NO POWER LIKE THAT OF PREVAILING PRAYER – OF

ABRAHAM PLEADING FOR SODOM,

JACOB WRESTLING IN THE STILLNESS OF THE NIGHT,

MOSES STANDING IN THE BREACH,

HANNAH INTOXICATED WITH SORROW,

DAVID HEARTBROKEN WITH REMORSE AND GRIEF,

JESUS IN SWEAT OF BLOOD …

SUCH PRAYER PREVAILS. IT TURNS ORDINARY MORTALS INTO MEN [AND WOMEN] OF PRAYER. IT BRINGS POWER. IT BRINGS FIRE. IT BRINGS RAIN. IT BRINGS LIFE. IT BRINGS GOD.” – Samuel Chadwick (1860-1932)
