FOMO

Reading about FOMO brings to mind again what a blessing it is to be a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be born again. Is there a greater blessing?

Thinking that somewhere else in the world something better is happening and we do not know about it brings anxious feelings to some people. Those irritable feelings are called FOMO, Fear Of Missing Out.

THAT’S WHY SOME PEOPLE CANNOT KEEP AWAY FROM THE INTERNET!

A true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, a person who is born again, sings:

“Happy day, happy day

When Jesus washed my sins away!”

A person who can sing that knows that nothing better can happen! That is the chorus of the hymn by Philip Doddridge called:

“O happy day that fixed my choice

On You, my Saviour and my God!”

WHAT IS FOMO? It is the Fear Of Missing Out!

“JESUS IS ALIVE”

“Jesus is alive,” said the sign. It was so placed on the paddock that you could see it from the road. I saw it not long ago while riding on the bus from Kaitaia to Ahipara in the Far North of New Zealand.

What an encouragement and reminder.

Of course, the Bible teaches us about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, but I am also reminded of all the hymn writers who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and tell us that the Lord Jesus Christ is alive.

SEEN ON THE WAY FROM KAITAIA TO AHIPARA: “Jesus is Aive”

Alfred H. Ackley is the author and composer of the hymn, “I serve a risen Saviour.”

Bill and Gloria Gaither have written the hymn, “Because he lives.”

“Christ is risen! Hallelujah!,”  is a hymn by John S. B. Monsell.

We can thank Charles Wesley and Thomas Cotterill for the hymn “Hail the day that sees Him rise.”

” I know that my Redeemer lives,” is a hymn by Samuel Medley.

“Jesus the Lord is risen today,” is another hymn written by John Wesley. It has been one of the church’s most popular Easter hymns.

Robert Lowry wrote and composed the hymn “Christ Arose” in 1874.

I belong also to those who believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is alive. What about you?

The Bible says in First Corinthians 6:14:

“By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.”

(Remember that all the letters in the New Testament are written to believers.)

NEEDS AND WANTS

What is the difference between needs and wants?

“Needs are things that are really needed. Wants are things that are not really needed but are desired.”

The Bible says in Philippians 4:19:

“AND MY GOD WILL MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS GLORIOUS RICHES IN CHRIST JESUS.”
