RELATIONSHIPS, AND ONCE MORE RELATIONSHIPS

AGE CONCERN: Serving the needs of older people.

“‘…, for I am the LORD, who heals you,'” it says in Exodus 15:26 (NIV).

And this is the translation of D. Martin Luther of Exodus 15:26 in the German Bible on my book shelf. “…; denn ICH BIN DER HERR DEIN ARZT.”

The word I am looking for is the word General Practitioner, GP. And the German word “Arzt” is the English word for GP.

Not long ago I attended a free presentation by a General Practitioner here in Kaitaia at the Age Concern Offices with the title:

“BE PROACTIVE!

A POSITIVE APPROACH TO HEALTH AND AGEING.”

So far as I know, notes were taken by somebody, but I remember that a lifelong doctor patient relationship was recommended, if at all possible. However, it was also said that that was very difficult to achieve in rural areas, like Kaitaia.

Thinking about relationships, I am thinking there about my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ from the age of 18, and that it says in the Bible: “…; denn ICH BIN DER HERR, DEIN ARZT,” and that the Lord Jesus Christ says, “‘And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Please read THE GREAT COMMISSION in Matthew 28:16-20!

WHAT BAMBOO IS TEACHING

Image

The jointed stem of bamboo is called a culm. The joints are called nodes and each culm segment begins and ends with a node. Internode is the name for the segment between the nodes.

KAITAIA: Bamboo is not difficult to find in Kaitaia.

When I am looking at the joints, the nodes of bamboo, I am thinking about The Quiet Time of the true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Each new segment – internode – of our life begins and ends with a node, a joint.

Christians who guard The Quiet Time well, do well, and Christians who do not guard The Quiet Time well, don’t do well.

When I am looking at the joints, nodes of bamboo, I am also thinking of times in our life, when we collect all the loose ends of our life and systematize them.

A ring binder is ideal for systematization and updating.

Whenever I see bamboo, and I can see bamboo when I am looking through our living room window, I am reminded of what bamboo is teaching.
