WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IN THE WORLD?

Image

What do you think the most important question is?

The most important question is:

DID THE LORD JESUS CHRIST RISE FROM THE DEAD OR DID HE NOT RISE FROM THE DEAD?

The Apostle Paul discusses the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ in his first letter to the Corinthians in chapter fifteen.

A. WHAT IF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DID NOT RISE FROM THE GRAVE?

This message can be seen on the road from Kaitaia to Ahipara on the left side.

First Corinthians 5:12-19

  • Preaching is useless;
  • Faith is useless.
  • We are still in our sins.
  • Christians misrepresent God.
  • Dead Christians are lost.
  • Live Christians are to be pitied.

B. WHAT IF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DID RISE FROM THE GRAVE?

  • Verses 4ff: He is alive and we can meet him.
  • Verse 3: He died for our sins.
  • Verse 54: There is no more fear of death
  • Verse 22: His resurrection means that we will also be resurrected.
  • Verse 57: Through him we can be victorious.
  • Verse 58: He has work for us to do.

I have experienced that the Lord Jesus Christ is alive.

What about YOU?

“WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO ON SUNDAYS?” is one of the questions in the box called “Table Talkers”. (I hope you remember the box, which has written on it, “Find out the answers to 46 revealing questions in this box and get to know your friends and family a whole lot better at your next social occasion.)

THE CHURCH consists of all regenerated people and is the body of Christ.

I like to go to church on Sundays.

WHAT THEN IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH?

  1. Ephesians 1:4-6: The church is worshiping God on the earth. The church is glorifying God on the earth.
  2. Matthew 28:19,20: The church is evangelizing the world with the Gospel.
  3. Ephesians 4:11-15: The church is to teach Christians. The church is to instruct Christians.
  4. Acts 1:8: The church is to witness constantly.

The fourth commandment in the Bible says:

“Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, …” (Exodus 20:6-10)

The questions in the box are surely revealing.

“YOUR FAVOURITE DAY OF THE WEEK AND WHY?” is one of the questions in the box called “Table Talkers.” (I hope you remember this box, which has written on it, “Find out the answers to 46 revealing questions in the box and get to know your friends and family a whole lot better at your next social occasion.”)

One week has seven days.

  • On Sunday my favourite day is Sunday.
  • On Monday my favourite day is Monday.
  • On Tuesday my favourite day is Tuesday.
  • On Wednesday my favourite day is Wednesday.
  • On Thursday my favourite day is Thursday.
  • On Friday my favourite day is Friday.
  • On Saturday my favourite days is Saturday.

Why?

It says in the Bible, in Psalm 118:24:

“THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE; LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.”

To rejoice and be glad is a challenge of course.
